The next edition of the Spanish Super Cup is set to be held in Istanbul.
İdman.Biz reports, citing Spanish media, that the tournament is scheduled to take place in the Turkish city during the first week of February 2027.
Saudi Arabia hosted the Spanish Super Cup for the first time in 2020, with the tournament having been held there regularly since 2022. The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) announced in 2021 that its agreement with Saudi Arabia had been extended for 10 years.
However, Saudi Arabia will host the Asian Cup in January and February 2027, making it impossible to stage the Spanish Super Cup there during that period. The RFEF previously confirmed that it was considering alternative venues for the 2027 edition.
In the semi-finals, Real Madrid will face Real Sociedad, while Barcelona will take on Atletico Madrid.
According to the report, if Barcelona and Real Madrid reach the final, their respective head coaches Hansi Flick and José Mourinho would face each other for the first time in their current roles.
